Educators/Parents
Textbooks are available in Braille, cassette, and large print for K-12 education programs.

The South Dakota Braille and Talking Book Library has had the responsibility for providing alternative format textbooks to students for the past twenty years.

Through our Braille and recorded book production facilities, a national network of Braille and Talking Book Libraries, and a national network of educational resource centers for the blind, the South Dakota Braille and Talking Book Library orders, produces, or borrows textbooks in alternative formats for students who cannot read standard print. This service assures each school that they can and will provide an equal/quality education for these students as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Federal Rehabilitation Act, Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and the South Dakota Braille Bill.

Ordering of educational materials requires meeting the eligibly requirements and completion of an library application.
