NewsBank's America's Newspapers provides full text of current and archived electronic editions of nearly 700+ local, regional, and national U.S. newspapers-all in one easy to search interface. These include the The Argus Leader, Aberdeen American News, Minneapolis Tribune, Denver Post, Washington Post, New York Times. etc.
Newsbank Special Reports
focus on topics of current interest. They include content from sources throughout the world to provide a global perspective, current and background information, statistics, maps, images, websites, and suggested search terms. New information is added daily to featured and current reports.
In addition, registered users may take advantage of advanced features, such as save custom lists, email clippings, save searches, & create distribution lists.
These "archived electronic editions" include the "complete electronic edition of record". This means:
- All editions of each newspaper
- All text content as specified by each newspaper's editor/publisher. For most newspapers, this will include all stories written by their own staff. Some newspapers (such as Aberdeen American News) may include wire service stories; others (such as the Argus Leader) may not include wire stories. The inclusion of other syndicated columns is also a decision of each newspaper's editor/publisher. In addition, the inclusion of any freelance content is restricted by the 2001 US Supreme Court Tasini vs. New York Times copyright decision
- Births, deaths, marriages, etc are included if the individual newspaper decides to include them (approximately 55% have included them)
- It provides Full-Text only and has NO exact replicas, graphics, pictures or other images
- It includes these two South Dakota newspapers: Aberdeen American News (June 1, 2001+ ) and Sioux Falls Argus Leader (January 1, 1999+ ).

These advanced features can be used after "Log In" to NewsBank's America's Newspapers:
- Create and save custom lists of any of 700+ newspapers
- "Log In" to a personal account
- click on "Create Custom List" in left navigation bar
- check the desired newspapers
- enter a "Name of List" in the left navigation bar
- click on "Save to New List" in the left navigation bar
- retrieve in the left navigation bar by clicking on "Create Custom Lists" and then on the list's name as it appears under "MY LISTS" at the bottom of the left navigation bar
- Have newspaper clippings automatically emailed from selected newspapers
- "Log In" to a personal account
- Select your newspapers and search for your topic
- At the top of the search results, click on "Email Alerts"
- In the resulting screen, select a frequency, enter email address(es), and click on "Begin Alert"
- To edit/delete Email Alerts, click on "Email Alerts" in the left navigation bar
- Create and save searches that retrieve the information wanted from your selected newspapers
- "Log In" to a personal account
- Select your newspapers and search for your topic
- At the top of the search results, click on "Save this Search"
- To edit/delete Saved Searches, click on "Saved Searches" in the left navigation bar
- Create Distribution Lists to send selected newspaper articles to groups of people
- "Log In" to a personal account
- Click on "Email Address List" in the left navigation bar
- Complete the webform in the resulting webpage
